How we install electric fireplaces in Indian Mound Village
Every installation in Indian Mound Village is priced upfront and covered by our 100% satisfaction guarantee.
Insulation and vapor barriers behind the unit
An earlier edition of one linear fireplace manual says the unit should not be in direct contact with a vapor barrier or insulation. Exterior walls often hold both, which matters when the opening is framed into one of them.
Our team checks what is inside the wall before we cut it and frames the opening so the unit's case stays clear of those materials. If the wall you picked is an exterior wall, we explain the extra framing it may need before you approve the plan.
A dry opening for the insert
The same firebox manual warns against installing the unit in an opening prone to dampness. Water that reaches an old firebox can come down the flue through a missing cap or a damaged chimney top, and it lands right where the insert's electrics would sit.
Before an insert is recommended, the firebox floor and walls get checked for water marks. If the chimney is letting water in, we explain the repair and price it separately, so the source is fixed before the new unit goes in.
Plug-in appliance or built-in project
A plug-in electric fireplace is treated as an appliance, while the maker's documentation says hardwired built-in units should be checked against local building codes. Which side of that line a project sits on decides whether it involves more than placing and connecting the unit.
You learn where your project sits and who handles any electrical approval that applies. Nothing is assumed, and nothing is left for you to discover after the wall is closed.
Handover and the remote
When the installation is finished, we switch the unit on with you and walk through the flame, heat and brightness controls, the remote and any eco or boost setting your model offers. One maker asks that remote batteries be kept away from children.
You keep the manual, the written record of the work we did and our workmanship warranty information together. If anything about the unit is unclear later, you call the same local team that installed it.
