Florida's fuel gas code (section 503.6.6) requires a Type B gas vent to terminate not less than 5 feet in vertical height above the highest connected draft hood or flue collar, and section 503.6.7 requires it to end with a listed cap or listed roof assembly. DuraVent adds that pipe from 3 to 12 inches in diameter must end at least 2 feet higher than an adjacent wall or obstruction within 8 feet.
