The wall, the power and the finish, planned before our installers mount anything in Lock Arbor.
No extension cords or power strips
The plug-in manuals we reference say to plug the fireplace directly into a wall outlet, never into an extension cord or a relocatable power tap. A heater draws steady current for long stretches, and a light cord or a crowded strip is the wrong place for that load.
When the nearest outlet is in the wrong spot, the answer is to move the unit or to have an electrician add an outlet where the unit will sit. We settle that choice at the planning stage, so nothing is improvised on installation day.
Keeping the cord out of harm's way
A plug-in firebox manual we follow says the cord should not run under carpet, rugs or furniture. A cord trapped under a rug can be crushed or worn through without anyone noticing, and a heater cord carries a steady load.
Our installers route the cord along a clear path to the outlet and place the unit so no furniture rests on it. If the only route would cross a walkway, we suggest a different position or an outlet closer to the unit, added by an electrician.
Intakes and outlets left open
An electric fireplace heater pulls air in through an intake and pushes warm air out through an outlet. The manuals we reference warn against blocking either one or covering the front of the unit, since the heater depends on that airflow to run as designed. Decorative logs, stones or glass media are set so they sit in the flame tray and away from the heater outlet.
Our installers check that trim, decorative media and furnishings leave both openings clear. At handover we point out the intake and the outlet, so everyone in the home knows which parts must stay uncovered.
Handover and the remote
When the installation is finished, we switch the unit on with you and walk through the flame, heat and brightness controls, the remote and any eco or boost setting your model offers. One maker asks that remote batteries be kept away from children.
You keep the manual, the written record of the work we did and our workmanship warranty information together. If anything about the unit is unclear later, you call the same local team that installed it.
