Planning the wall, the power and the finish
Every installation in Wagner is priced upfront and covered by our 100% satisfaction guarantee.
No extension cords or power strips
The plug-in manuals we reference say to plug the fireplace directly into a wall outlet, never into an extension cord or a relocatable power tap. A heater draws steady current for long stretches, and a light cord or a crowded strip is the wrong place for that load.
When the nearest outlet is in the wrong spot, the answer is to move the unit or to have an electrician add an outlet where the unit will sit. We settle that choice at the planning stage, so nothing is improvised on installation day.
Where the electrician comes in
New circuits, new outlets and hardwired connections are electrical work. The manuals we reference call for an electrician to do that work under local and national electrical codes, and it is separate from mounting and finishing the fireplace.
Our estimate draws that line clearly. You see the fireplace installation, the finish work and any electrician's step as separate items, in the order they happen. Nothing electrical is hidden inside a single installation price, and nobody improvises a connection to save a trip.
Where the outlet should sit
The outlet position is not a detail to settle at the end. The built-in manual we reference says the unit should not sit immediately below a fixed socket-outlet, and a recessed unit leaves little room to reach a receptacle behind it once it is in place.
We mark the outlet or junction location on the wall before any framing is closed, using the manual's diagram. If an existing outlet is in the wrong place, an electrician moves it early, while the wall is still open and the change is simple.
An old gas connection in the opening
Some fireplace openings once held a gas appliance, and a gas line may still end inside them. An electric insert should never be pushed in front of a gas connection that nobody has dealt with.
A qualified gas professional shuts off and caps the old supply before we install anything. Our estimate names that step and who performs it, and we schedule the insert only after the gas work is finished and the opening is clear. The written record notes that the gas line was capped and by whom.
