Gas Fireplace
Getting your gas fireplace right in Sanlando Springs
Gas fireplaces repaired in Sanlando Springs after a free inspection of the unit, its controls and its vent.
A blower that hums, rattles or stops
The blower moves room air around the outside of the firebox and pushes warm air back into the room. It plays no part in combustion, but it collects lint and pet hair, and a motor that hums, rattles or turns slowly is usually asking for cleaning or replacement.
One maker's annual service list includes cleaning the blower with a soft brush and a vacuum. We clean it, check the fan and its temperature switch where one is fitted, and replace the motor with the listed part when it has worn out. A fault in the household circuit that feeds the blower is work for an electrician, and we say so.
Black soot on the glass or the logs
Soot inside a gas fireplace is a symptom with a cause. One maker's troubleshooting guide lists flame striking the media, a blocked or misadjusted air shutter, an input rate that is too high, a broken door gasket and leaking vent joints. Each of these changes how cleanly the gas burns.
Cleaning the glass removes the evidence without fixing the fault, so we look for the cause first. If soot appears outside the firebox, on the wall or the ceiling, stop using the fireplace until it has been checked. We clean the deposits once the reason for them has been corrected.
After water reaches the controls
Gas fireplace manuals are firm on this point. If any part of the appliance has been under water, it must stay out of use until a qualified technician has inspected it and replaced every control system part and gas control that was submerged. Drying it out and trying the switch is no test at all.
Water can reach a fireplace from a roof leak, a burst pipe or storm water inside the house. Tell us what happened and how high the water reached. We check the valve, the ignition parts and the wiring, and we list the parts the manual says must be replaced before the unit runs again.
Parts and labor priced in writing first
After the free inspection you get the findings in plain words and a written price for each item, with parts and labor on their own lines. No hidden fees are added, and anything we find once work has started is explained and priced before we go further.
When the work is done, you receive a written record of what was repaired or serviced and which parts went in. That record helps at the next service visit and for anyone who buys the house later. Services you schedule within 72 hours of your free inspection are 10% off.
