Gas Fireplace

Gas fireplace service for Alderene Park homes

Start with a free inspection, and we explain the fault before any part is ordered.

Main burner out while the pilot stays lit

A pilot that burns steadily while the main flame will not come on, or comes on and then quits, is a different fault. The current from the thermopile may be too weak, the wall switch or its wiring may be failing, or a long or thin switch wire may add too much resistance for a millivolt system to carry.

A blocked vent can also shut the main burner down, and so can a remote receiver with tired batteries. We test the switch circuit, measure the thermopile where the model's manual gives a test value and check the vent path before recommending a part.

Wall switch, remote and receiver

A fireplace that ignores the remote may have a remote problem, a receiver problem or an appliance problem. The handheld unit and the receiver each run on batteries, and the receiver often sits near the valve, where heat and lint reach it. A wall switch adds its own wiring between the room and the control.

We test each link in order, from the button you press to the valve that answers, and use the manual's own test for the switch circuit. You get a clear answer on which part failed, whether it is a battery, a switch, a receiver or the control itself, before any part is ordered.

Getting to the controls behind the surround

Service on a gas fireplace happens mostly through its lower grille, control panel or front. The Florida fuel gas code says panels, grilles and access doors that have to come off for normal servicing must not be attached to the building. A remodel that tiles over the control access or fixes a grille in place makes every future repair harder.

If your surround has covered an access point, we explain what is needed to reach the controls before we start, and we never cut into a finish without your approval. When you plan a new surround, we can point out which panels have to stay removable.

Parts and labor priced in writing first

After the free inspection you get the findings in plain words and a written price for each item, with parts and labor on their own lines. No hidden fees are added, and anything we find once work has started is explained and priced before we go further.

When the work is done, you receive a written record of what was repaired or serviced and which parts went in. That record helps at the next service visit and for anyone who buys the house later. Services you schedule within 72 hours of your free inspection are 10% off.
