The details behind fixing your Alderene Park fireplace
Fixing a fireplace that smokes into the room
According to EPA wood-burning guidance, a fireplace or stove used properly produces little smoke, so smoke you see or smell on a regular basis signals a problem. Identifying a factory-built fireplace before repair
Not every fireplace with a brick face is masonry. A factory-built fireplace is a metal unit tested and listed to UL 127, which the Florida Building Code says must be installed under the conditions of that listing (R1004.1). Its rating plate names the maker and the model.

Carbon monoxide alarms near a repaired fireplace
Burning fuel produces carbon monoxide, which is why the NFPA advises venting all fuel-burning equipment outside and installing and maintaining carbon monoxide alarms. Fireplace manuals describe the early signs of carbon monoxide poisoning as flu-like, with headaches, dizziness or nausea, and tell you to get fresh air at once.
